Continuous Quality Improvement

One common approach in the continuous quality improvement process (CQI) involves a basic research element, identifying the effect of a change through a systematic method for collecting data to increase or develop generalizeable knowledge. In research, CQI procedures include assessing compliance with the research plan and with the Institutional Review Board and inspecting study records and documentation.

Additional elements of the CQI process related to research practices include a planning phase (gathering information assessing intervention components), an implementation phase (initial, intermediate and long-term goals) and a monitoring phase (rigorous evaluation of the interventions conducted). Additional information on the CQI process can be found here.
